KL Rahul, the top batsman for India, regained his mojo with the willow and scored unbeaten 75 runs off 91 balls in a tricky chase to help the Men in Blue defeat Australia.

When KL Rahul delivered a masterful innings, former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad abruptly changed his tune and praised the star batsman for his cool-headed performance as opposed to his earlier remarks, in which he questioned Rahul’s inclusion in the playing X1 and suggested that Shubhman Gill  should be given more opportunities.

When Rahul scored the winning runs and formed a strong partnership with star all-arounder Ravindra Jadeja, who scored unbeaten 45 runs, together they added up to 106 runs for the sixth wicket, which ultimately won the game for India.

Talking about the pace of the game, Australia batted first and scored 188 runs in response Men in Blue was looking confident initially but in quick instance starc, clinched back to back wickets including Kishan, Kohli and Surya Kumar Yadav.

 

Once Gill was dismissed for 45 runs and 4 wickets, India was in trouble. Pandya came in and quietly began developing India’s innings alongside Rahul. After Pandya was dismissed, it was up to Jadeja and Rahul to ensure that India won this game and extended the three-match series lead by 1-0 and this victory will give them immense confidence ahead of 2nd match which will be played in Andhra Pradesh.
