With Najam Sethi’s appointment as the new president of Men in Green, Pakistan Cricket has experienced a regime transition.
Haroon Rasheed has been appointed as the new chief selector replacing Shahid Afridi.
According to reports in various media, Saqlain Mushtaq won’t stay on as coach for very long since the management committee, led by Najam Sethi, is opposed to hiring a local coach and prefers a foreign coach.
In a recent press conference, President Najam Sethi discussed a range of subjects, including hiring a new head coach.
According to Sethi, Mickey Arthur, who has prior experience coaching Men in Green and under whose direction the Pakistan National side won the Champions title in 2017, and I are currently in a conversation.

We are in negotiations and will find out Arthur’s situation in the upcoming 3–4 working days. Arthur has a few conditions.
PSL is only trailing behind IPL; Najam Sethi on comparison between these two leagues
Arthur is an expert in Pakistani cricket, and he and Sarfaraz had a special bond. However, because of certain disastrous occurrences, Arthur lost his position and Sarfaraz was demoted from the national team.
When a local person serves as the head coach, mediocrity in selection occurs, but when a foreigner manages the coaching, merit is always given preference, according to PCB President Sethi.
The Pakistani cricket team has suffered home losses to England and New Zealand, and they will be attempting to rebound in upcoming matches with a fresh thinking group.
PSL season 9 is all set to take place from February 13th 2023 in Karachi and the competition will be played across Multan, Islamabad , Lahore and Quetta.
