PAK Vs NZ ODI The Blackcaps register their first series win at Pakistan after 4 decades

After a wait of almost 46 years, New Zealand have captured a series win against Pakistan at Pakistan. The Black-caps toured to Pakistan for 2-Tests and 3-ODIs. Both sides failed to win any of their Test matches as 2 out of those 2 Test matches ended without a result.

However, during the ODI series, the Kiwis led by Kane Williamson clinched the series by 2-1. The final ODI between the 2 teams took place last night at the National Stadium in Karachi.

The ODI series began on January 9 and the hosts took the lead in the first match. Pakistan successfully chased down a total of 256 en-route Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan’s 50+ knocks.

However, in the second ODI, New Zealand staged an outstanding comeback to equalize the series by 1-1. Devon Conway scored a blistering century and captain Kane Williamson’s 85 runs off 100 balls saw New Zealand post a total of 261 but Pakistan had an underwhelming batting performance as they were bowled out for 182 runs.

The Kiwis won the match by 89 runs and set the stage for them to win the 3rd ODI. Last night at the Karachi Stadium, New Zealand were put to ball first. Pakistan were able to post a total of 280 as Fakhar Zaman scored a century, Mohammad Rizwan smacked 77 and Agha Salman’s 45 off 43 took them to the total.

But the Kiwi batting line-up responded strongly and won the match with 2 wickets to spare. They clinched a series at Pakistan’s soil for the first time in 46 years. Up next New Zealand will travel to India for 3-ODI and 3-T20I series later this month.
