Olympiacos, also known as The Red-Whites, is a Greek Football Club. They participate in the Super League Greece and Greek Cup.

The Club also appears in major European competitions like the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup Winner’s Cup

HISTORY

Olympiacos was founded 94 years ago on 10th March 1925 after the merger of two pre-existing clubs Piraikos Podosfairikos Omilos FC and “Piraeus Fans Club FC.

The Club within six years of its existence won their first national league in 1931, following which they won their first Greek Cup in 1947 and the Balkans Cup in 1963.

The Club for decades has been considered as a rich institution as in 1988 they signed Hungarian star Lajos Detari. In doing so, the club made the second most expensive transfer in the history of the game back then.

After the club won their 40th national championship in 2013, the club added four stars in their logo.

Club Ownership

The ownership of Red-Whites is currently in the hands of Greek Businessman Evangelos Marinakis since 2010. He has also been the president of the club for a few years. At Current, Giannis Moralis is the president of the Club.

Since the origin of the club, the Karaiskakis Stadium has been serving as the club’s home ground. Located in Piraeus, Attica, Greece, the stadium has a net capacity to hold 32,115 spectators.

The current net worth of the club is 650 Million Dollars.
