No retirement coming anytime soon: Chris Gayle

KXIP swashbuckling batsman Chris Gayle said that he will not retire anytime soon after teammate Mandeep Singh told him to never retire during post-match conversation after registering victory against KKR in the ongoing edition of IPL 2020.

KXIP is playing superbly in the second half of the league stage where they recently defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets. Gayle talked about his retirement plan while interviewing Singh in the video posted on Iplt20. com.

During the conversation, Singh told Gayle that he should never retire. In reply Universe Boss said “cancel retirement” and added that “no retirement coming anytime soon”.KXIP with their superb display in the second half of the league stage reached at the fourth spot of the points table. In the last match Gayle and Singh scored 51 and *66 runs respectively to help chase down the target of 150 runs, set by KKR. It has been emotional week for Mandeep Singh as his father expired on Friday. Despite the tragedy he stepped on the field and played game for KXIP.

Singh said his father used to tell him that he should remain not out In every game. “My Father used to tell me that you should remain not out in every game and that’s is what I wanted to do today. Before the game, I spoke to Rahul, telling him that let me play my game and even if I take few balls initially. I can win games for the team. I think my Father would be very happy that I finished the game and remained not out” Singh said.

He also complemented Universe Boss by stating that he is the greatest T20 player ever that the world has ever witnessed in the history of the game.
