Paris Olympics 2024: Is there a burden of Expectations on Neeraj Chopra to save Gold Medal in Next Olympics?

Neeraj Chopra all set to Compete at Ostrava Golden Spike 2025 Athletics Meet to be held in Czech Republic in 2024

Doubles Olympic Medalist Neeraj Chopra deserve credit for his massive transformation and the way he has played over the years and brought laurels for India.

Neeraj Chopra is currently outside India, training for his next competition and he will be next competing at the Ostrava Golden Spike 2025 Athleteics meet in the Czech Republic on June 24 hoping that he became time lucky after he pulled out in last two edition due to injuries.

The event is all set to take place on June 24th 2025, as he was suppose to participate in 2023 and 2024 editions of the tournament where he pulled out of the marquee event due to injuries and hoping that he is good to go this time.

“I am excited to announce that I will take part in the Golden State Spike Meeting in the Ostrava this year. It’s  legendary race and this year will be exceptional. My Coach Jan Zelenzy has not won there many times. but also act as the director of the whole event. I Hope you will see nice and far-reaching feasts” he said.

Neeraj Chopra best part about him is his humility and ability to remain the same after winning any competition. He has inspired next generation of Indian Atheltes to take up this sport.

He deserve praise for that his impact could be understood by the fact that event has been kept by World Athletics Federation under his name known as “Neeraj Chopra Athletics event” where top athletes from all around the world are invited to compete and do wonders and the ones doing well there will get a direct qualification to World Athletics Championship to be held in Tokyo 2025.

Chopra is also serving Indian army and in limited time period he has become great inspiration for India.

Due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025, which was initially planned on May 24 at Bengaluru’s Sree Kanteerava Stadium, has been postponed.

On Instagram, Neeraj Chopra made the announcement, stressing that “country matters most” in the current geopolitical environment. Due to insufficient lighting at the original location, the event which was supposed to be India’s first World Athletics Category ‘A’ javelin competition had already been moved from Panchkula to Bengaluru.

 

He also extended invitation to Arshad Nadeem(Pakistani Gold Medalist for Paris Olympics 2024) but considering political situations he declined it.

Tickets ranged from ₹199 to ₹44,999, and top international sportsmen including Anderson Peters and Thomas Röhler were scheduled to compete.

The event, which aims to host elite contests and inspire future talent, is still major stride for Indian athletics might get 

postponed.
