The 40-year-old Jamal who played for Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA, also said that he isn’t surprised to see the former MVP playing for the Detroit Pistons. However, the Detroit Pistons have not played up to the mark this year. They are 13th in the Eastern Conference with no or little chances of making into playoffs if the season resumes.

Crawford also said that the youngest MVP in NBA history hasn’t got the respect that he deserved a few years ago.

“Oh, I love watching him,” Jamal Crawford said about Derrick Rose. “He’s someone who was written off, someone who was — I think people didn’t give him the proper respect on his name. From different places, different situations.

“He’s a Hall of Famer. He’s unbelievable. He’s fun to watch. He’s such a genuine person. I’ll always root for him. I’m like his biggest fan to be honest with you. I love watching him.

“Think about that, he knew he was this D-Rose all along, whether he was in Cleveland, whether he was in Minnesota, whatever. Getting waived from Utah…But he knew he was this same guy all along.”

Rose has been one of the star players of the Detroit Pistons but he was suspended after he threw a pen at the crowd in frustration when the side lost in the overtime. He is currently averaging 18.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 50 games. He is also shooting 49.0 percent from the floor, 30.6 percent from beyond the arc and 87.1 percent from the free-throw line as he has led the Pistons this season.

In his career, Rose has played 596 games so far, averaging 18.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. Cleveland Cavaliers traded him to the Utah Jazz in 2017-18 season but in 2018 he was acquired by the Minnesota Timberwolves. The very next season he moved to Detroit Pistons and has been a vital cog for them since then.
