In the ENG vs AUS 4th ODI played against England at Lord’s, Australia suffered a big defeat by 186 runs. Along with this defeat, a shameful record has been registered in the name of Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc. The left-arm pacer, who came to bowl the last over of England’s innings, gave away 28 runs and became the bowler who bowled the most expensive over in the history of Australian ODI cricket.
In the last over of England’s inning, explosive batter Liam Livingstone was facing Mitchell Starc. The very first delivery of the over was smacked for six, but then Starc made a comeback and delivered a dot ball. The four balls of the over are registered in the history of ODI cricket as Livingstone smashed 3 consecutive sixes and hit a four on the last ball. This way Starc conceded 28 runs in the over, which is the most expensive in the history of Australia’s ODI cricket.

Before Mitchell Starc, the record of bowling the most expensive over in the history of Australian ODI cricket was in the name of Xavier Doherty, who gave away 26 runs in an over against India in 2013. Apart from Xavier Doherty, Cameron Green and Adam Zampa have also given away 26-26 runs in one over. But now this record has been added to the name of Mitchell Starc against England at the historic ground of Lord’s, called the ‘Mecca of Cricket’.
