A player in the former New Zealand international cricket team, Martin Colin Snedden was born on 23rd November in the year 1958. He mainly played 25 international test cricket and around 93 One Day Internationals between the years 1980 and 1990. He was a significant member of the New Zealand bowling team at that time along with Ewen Chatfield and Sir Richard Hadlee.
It is because of them that 1980s is considered as the golden age for the New Zealand international men’s cricket team. His family was also involved in the game. His uncle, father, and grandfather took active participation in the game and his uncle Colin Snedden even played one test match for the New Zealand team.

Martin Snedden had some great bowling records under his sleeves. He made his test debut in the year 1981 against India while his ODI debut was against Australia in the year1980. He was also the first cricketer to concede a total of 100 runs in ODI from a match that has 60 over in it. This record remained intact until a long time until 2006, when it was broken by the cricketer Mick Lewis. When it came to batting, Martin Snedden generally played in the lower order but once he made the opening innings in an ODI match and scored runs in it. He had made a significant contribution to the domestic cricketing environment as well when he played for the Auckland team.
Along with cricket, he has also been practicing law. He was a lawyer who also spent a few years CEO of the New Zealand Cricket. In 2006, he left the job to head the team that would be organizing the 2011 Rugby World Cup. In 2012, he was made one of the companions of New Zealand order of merit for all the services that he delivered to the sporting community.
