Manchester United and Inter Milan qualify for Europa League semi-finals

 Manchester United and Inter Milan qualified for the semi-finals of the Europa League after winning their respective quarterfinal fixtures on Tuesday. 

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men defeated Copenhagen 1-0 in a penalty shootout in Cologne, Germany. Both the teams went hard on each other till in the entire match time. None of them conceded a single goal until the 95th minute when The Red Devils got the penalty shootout. Bruno Fernandes didn’t miss the opportunity as he netted the first goal of the match. The United were 1-0 in the game, but the officials added extra 30 minutes and that allowed the game to stretch till 120 minutes.

After this victory, Solskjaer’s men will either meet Wolves or Sevilla in their semi-finals fixture of the Europa League on August 17. 

On the other hand, Inter Milan defeated Leverkusen by 2-1 in Germany as Nicolo Barella and Romelu Lukaku strike on two occasions. Barella scored the opening goal in the 15th minute of the match while the next goal came off in the next six minutes by a fierce kick from Lukaku. 

Three minutes later, Leverkusen hit back with their first goal when Kai Havertz scored for the side by getting the ball to surpass the goalkeeper’s legs and cross the goal line. 

Milan finally won the match and they will either compete against FC Basel or Shakhtar Donetsk on August 18.
