Yesterday, in his debut test match in international cricket, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a brilliant century against the West Indies in Dominica, making him the 17th Indian batter to score a test century on his debut. Yashasvi is still unbeaten at 143 runs and can achieve a bigger feat if he continues batting like this.

With his century against the West Indies yesterday, Yashasvi became the first batter to score a hundred in seven different formats and tournaments for India as well as his domestic teams. The journey started with hitting a match-winning century for India under-19 against Pakistan under-19 in the year 2020.

Jaiswal never looked back from there and is now being termed the “future of Indian cricket”. Before the test match against the West Indies, captain Rohit Sharma said that the team was lucky to have Jaiswal as an opener because he is a left-handed batter, and he wanted Jaiswal to make this opening spot his own.

Well, from the looks of his first test innings, we don’t think there is anyone in the near future who can take away this opening spot from him in the Indian test team. His innings included a lot of composure, patience, and maturity, which are not usually seen in players who are so young and playing their debut test match.
