The All Rounder and an IPL veteran has previously featured for teams like the Delhi Daredevils and was recently released by RCB after having a decent season. Chris Morris was sold for a staggering amount of Rs 16.25 crores and will play for the Rajasthan Royals in the 2021 season. Rajasthan Royals who already have the like of Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and Jofra Archer, will be heavily boosted by the inclusion of Chris Morris
When it come to money, Yuvraj Singh tops the list. India’s once most eligible bachelor lived a very flamboyant life. Until 2020, Yuvraj Singh was the most expensive player in the IPL. Singh is also known as the sixer king and famous for his six 6s in South Africa was sold for Rs 16cr to the Delhi Daredevils in 2015. Yuvraj has been a legend for Indian cricket in all three formats. Having won man of the tournament in the t20 world cup in 2007 and ICC cricket World Cup in 2011, placing a bid for a player like him seemed absolutely worth it, only had he performed.
The most expensive fast bowler in the history of IPL. Pat Cummins, an Australian has impressed the whole cricketing fraternity for his immaculate blowing performances in all the three formats for his national team. Having previously featured for the Delhi Daredevils while not having the best of the seasons, it came as a surprise to see him go for that amount. Pat Cummins was sold for Rs 15.5cr to the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2020 IPL auction.

Another quickie allrounder who managed to got big bucks for his service. Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore, purchased the Kiwi allrounder for Rs 15 crore in the recently concluded IPL auction. The tall lanky fellow impressed everyone when India toured New Zealand in 2020. India’s renowned batsmen found it difficult to play against him because of the bounce and speed he was generating. Since then he has been a regular starter for NZ in all the formats. Apart from his bowling, Kyle can bat too, with his long levers, it will be interesting to see how well RCB can use his batting abilities.
Winner of the ICC t20 world cup in 2007 and ICC World Cup in 2011 and winner of the man of the match in the finals of both the tournament Gautam Gambhir is the fifth most expensive player in the history of IPL. The left hander was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 14.9cr in the mega auction of 2011, after not making the list of retained players for Delhi Daredevils. Kolkata Knight Riders spent that money for Gautam Gambhir because they saw his as a potential captain. Gautam Gambhir lead the Kolkata Knight riders from 2011 to 2018 and managed to win 2 IPL trophies with them, making him one of the most successful captains in IPL.
Another quickie allrounder in the list of most expensive players. IPL has become a heaven for foreign all rounders, managing to make the most of their abilities and heaping in huge sums of money from the franchiser. The Englishmen, who is a regular starter in all the three formats, is also one of the best allrounders in the world of cricket. Not many possess the abilities Ben stokes possess. Stokes was purchased by the Rising Pune Supergiant for Rs 14.5cr in the 2017 edition of the IPL. After not having been able to live up to the price tag, Stokes was later sold to
Rajasthan Royals.
Another foreigner who got sold for big bucks. Rated as one of the finest hitters in modern day era, Glenn Maxell got sold to the Royal Challenger Bangalore for Rs 14.25cr in the recently concluded auction. RCB who already have the likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Kyle Jamieson, seem to be the favorite for the upcoming season. He is someone who on this day can take the game on its hand and can win the game for you single-handedly.

India’s finest opening batsmen got sold for 11 crores in the 2018 season of the IPL. Kings XII Punjab who managed to rope in his services, wouldn’t complain much about his big price tag. He is one of the few players who did not let the pressure of a heavy price tag get over him. The current orange cap holder, who also is the captain for the Punjab team is the 10th most expensive buys in the IPL auction.
