Lionel Messi regrets his heated actions during the FIFA World cup 2022

FIFA World cup 2022 was truly a roller coaster ride. This edition produced outstanding matches and there were plenty of upsets on display as well. The Finale between France and Argentina in fact went down the wire and the winner was decided through a penalty shootout.

Argentina’s captain Lionel Messi had an unseen approach and he kind of looked like a Bad boy, which is so ironical. In his career, he was mostly seen as a player who doesn’t involve in altercations and likes to answer critics with the ball. However, this time around the 35-year-old broke all the previous barriers.

It all began during Argentina’s quarter-final clash against Netherlands which went down to penalties. The Argentine players were heavily criticized for their behavior as the game had to deal with a few stoppages due to the altercations. Lionel Messi, meanwhile, was seen wrap his ears around the ear during a goal celebration.

It was indicated to the Dutch head coach Louis Van Gaal. Then after the match Messi had shared heated words against Netherlands goalkeeper.

But all of that was worth it in the end. Lionel Messi and co. helped La Albiceleste win their 3rd World championship. In a recent interview he regretted taunting the Dutch manager. “These are moments of great tension, a lot of nervousness, everything happens very quickly and you don’t have time to think about anything. Actually, nothing was planned, it happened like that and as I say, I don’t like to leave that image.”

“I don’t know why there was a mess with the Cup. I raised the good one and later in the celebrations there was half a mess.”
