Jofra Archer ruled out of IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians names England's Star all-rounder as his replacement

England bowler Jofra Archer is ruled out of IPL 2023 due to injury and will not play for the remaining season, which is a huge loss for the Mumbai Indians ahead of their crucial matchup with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Tuesday saw the Mumbai Indians make the announcement that Chris Jordan will be joining them for the remainder of the season.

With the Mumbai Indians, Archer has only played five games and captured two wickets at a 9.50 economy rate. He started in MI’s opening game of the season but then missed four straight games. He last played last week against the Chennai Super Kings.

Jofra Archer is replaced by Chris, whose rehabilitation and fitness are still being tracked by the ECB. Jofra will go back home to concentrate on his recovery. Due to elbow and back ailments that severely threatened his career, Archer missed nearly two years of international cricket before making a comeback earlier this year and last year, Archer missed the whole IPL.

Jordan, who made his IPL debut in 2016, has taken 27 wickets in 28 IPL games since his debut. The quick bowler has 96 T20I wickets to his name and has played 87 T20Is for England. Jordan joins MI for Rupees 2 Crore.
