It will be Interesting to see how teams will play after 5 months break: Amit Rohidas

Indian drag-flicker and midfielder Amit Rohidas said that it will be interesting to see how different teams will play in the upcoming FIH Pro League after 5 months of a break due to COVID-19.

As all the majorly hockey sporting activities have been halted from March onwards due to deadly coronavirus.

“I will be closely watching the PC variations and defending tactics these teams will use. It will be interesting to see how they perform when the competitive hockey resume after more than five months” Hockey India official website quoted Rohidas as saying.

Currently, all the Hockey players are training at SAI Bengaluru centre for the ongoing national camp. Rohidas said that he will be curious to watch Belgian counterpart Loick Luypaert who is often regarded as one of the top players who are playing the game.

Belgium has a very good PC attack and they use conventional variations but are very effective. They have quality dragflickers and Luypaert has done very well in the past. I will be curious to see his game in particular, ” stated Rohidas.

On the occasion of National Sports Day in Bhubaneswar Orissa, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had expressed that development of sports infrastructure and coaching facilities at the grassroot level in Orissa is done in a fast-paced manner.

Rohidas who hails from Orissa further stressed that the better infrastructure at the grass-root level will give more good players to India who will bring laurels for the country in future.

He also congratulated Deep Grace who plays for the women’s team as she received Biju Patnaik Sports Award for her outstanding performance in the field of hockey in the last few years.
