Indian Super League franchise appointed highly experienced coach Thangboi Singto as a senior team assistant coach and technical director(Youth). This news was confirmed one of the officials from Hyderabad FC team on Friday.
The 46-year-old Manipuri has a huge experience in coaching and his inputs will be valuable for the team ahead of the upcoming ISL season.
As the co-owner of the team Varun Tripuraneni said “I have worked with Thangboi before and his vast experience of working in different set-ups across the country is very valuable”.
“He has a fantastic record of working with young talent and he fits in perfectly into the role here with our club’s vision to build a strong youth development structure.
“We have a long-term partnership with Borussia Dortmund with a heavy focus on youth and we’re hoping to see things take shape soon.”.
Singto began his coaching carrier in 2009 with former I-league side known as Shillong Lajong. In 2013 he began his brief coaching stint with ISL franchise North East United in the inaugural edition of ISL and then joined Kerala Blasters as an assistant coach and technical director from 2017 to 2019. He impressed the owners of other franchise during his stint with Kerala as he is fluent in multiple languages which is an essential aspect when you are talking to players from different region and his game tactics will help youngsters a lot.
Singto is happy with his appointment and he knows what kind of culture he has to bring in the team and he is elated to join Hyderabad FC for the upcoming season.
“As a club, our aim is to provide opportunities to talented youngsters, and finding and honing them is our primary goal,” Singto said.
“We aim to have a strong foundation for our club going into the future and hope that we are able to achieve that. I want to give my best and contribute towards the overall development of the football club,” he added.
