It’s match time in the Indian Premier League 2025 edition, as a team from north India, Punjab Kings will lock horns with the southern siren team, Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday at the Mullanpur stadium, New Chandigarh.
Both the vibrant teams will look to bounce back from their respective demoralizing defeats when they take on each other in an exciting encounter. In the 22nd match of the IPL 2025, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s yellow army will face off against the red jersey squad, led by the man in form Shreyas Iyer.
While Super Kings have a favourable head-to-head record against Punjab in the IPL, they have faced four defeats in the last five games against PBKS. However, Punjab has lost five of its six previous matches in Mullanpur, and Chennai Super Kings will fancy its chances to win a game against the host at this venue.
The high-voltage action will surely witness some ups and downs during the match, as the CSK squad has had it particularly rough, facing three straight losses and finding themselves in turmoil in the beginning part of the two-month long tournament.

The Shreyas Iyer-led side would be looking to better predict the conditions, remain unfazed, get back to winning ways, and overcome the jinx of fifth straight loss at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh stadium in new Chandigarh.
As far as the pitch is concerned, it has a favour towards the team batting first. The even pace and bounce of the wicket will help the batters to play their shots and get full value for it. However, during the second innings the bowlers might play a major part in deciding the fate of the game. In the six IPL games played in Mullanpur, the average first-innings score has been around 170.
So far, team Chennai and team Punjab have faced each other in 30 matches in the history of IPL. Out of these 30 games, CSK have won 16 times whereas PBKS have emerged victorious on 14 occasions.
