IPL 2023: Twitter Reacts After Prabhsimran Singh scores maiden century in IPL

In their crucial IPL encounter against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, Punjab Kings overcame a poor start to score a competitive 167 for 7. Prabhsimran Singh struck an outstanding hundred. During his 65-ball 103, only his second T20 hundred and first in the IPL, the 22-year-old opener looked in complete control as 10 of his shots touched the ropes and six crossed over it.

Prabhsimran had a well-paced innings, scoring 27 runs off of his first 30 balls before exploding for 76 runs off of his next 35 balls. Punjab’s aggressive strategy on a slow surface backfired, as they lost three wickets for 46 runs in the first six overs after DC captain David Warner requested that they play first.

The situation was subsequently stabilised by Prabhsimran and Sam Curran (20), who put up 72 runs in 54 balls.

With Rilee Rossouw collecting the catch at deep backward square leg, Ishant Sharma was in the lead as he recovered from a first-ball six to remove Shikhar Dhawan (7) in the following ball.

After two nine-run overs, Ishant came back to remove Liam Livingstone’s (4) stumps. Livingstone paid the price for dancing down the pitch after being away from the strike for a while, as Prabhsimran produced three boundaries.

When he smashed Axar Patel for a six with a reverse swing, Prabhsimran appeared to be in fine form. However, two balls later, the left-arm spinner destroyed Jitesh Sharma (5), who was attempting to play an inside-out stroke.

Kuldeep Yadav (1/32) and Praveen Dubey (1/19) maintained the closeness, but Prabhsimran scooped up the sporadic boundaries and rotated the attack to keep things going for his team.

Finally, PBKS defeated Delhi Capitals by 31 runs thanks to Prabhsimran Singh’s heroic performance.
