Top-class all-rounder and English skipper Ben Stokes has confirmed his presence in the sixteenth season of the Indian Premier League. There was suspense in his presence as he suffered from an injury and was rumored to remain out of the season. However, Stokes took to Instagram to confirm his availability with a CSK message.

The defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT) will open the 2023 IPL against the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings on Friday, March 31. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) supporters have been eagerly waiting to see England Test captain Ben Stokes in yellow since the club purchased him at the IPL 2023 auction for INR 16.25 crore.

With fewer than two weeks remaining in the lucrative league’s 16th season, Stokes provided a substantial update, suggesting that fans may not have to wait too long. Stokes sent a message from the Chennai Super Kings on Instagram, along with a photo of the Chepauk Stadium, with the caption, “Not long before I meet up with everyone.” The CSK supporters went crazy when Stokes revealed this.

Stokes, who had previously played for the Rajasthan Royals and Rising Pune Supergiants, will be seen once again with MS Dhoni after a six-year absence. Stokes indicated that red-ball cricket will be his first focus after being chosen as England’s Test captain in 2022; yet, after retiring from ODI cricket, he found a method to balance his workload. Stokes’ selection as England’s Test captain came at the same time as his signing by CSK. Stokes has led England to 10 victories in 12 Test matches since becoming captain.

Several people predicted that Stokes will be available in Dhoni’s CSK because the renowned four-time IPL winner could retire in 2023. Supporters are looking forward to the Stokes-Dhoni reunion, which will most likely be their last as teammates.

World’s most lucrative T-20 league IPL is a week away to start. The sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League is going to take place in its original home. The league is back home after a 4-year long gap due to Covid.
