IPL 2023 : MS Dhoni felicitated with a special memento ahead of the abandoned fixture between LSG Vs RCB!

BCCI Vice-president Rajeev Shukla on Wednesday handed a special memento as another token of recognition to the GOAT player who helped India win 3 International ICC titles. It was for the first time that MS Dhoni played at the Ekana Stadium but the spectators unfortunately returned home without seeing Dhoni and the entire match.

The special award was actually a Bat with pictures of Dhoni. According to his IPL statistics, he is one of the batters with 5000 runs in the competition. He has amassed 5052 runs overall in 243 games, a strike rate of 135, and 24 half-centuries. Additionally, Dhoni scored 237 sixes and 384 fours.

Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings for 14 seasons; the only 2 seasons he did not serve as skipper were 2016 and 2017, as CSK was suspended from the IPL for two seasons.

Meanwhile the 4-time IPL winner MS Dhoni, also ended up providing a significant update on his league destiny during today’s toss match against the Lucknow Super Giants. While watching the coin toss, New Zealand commentator Danny Morrison questioned Dhoni about his feelings about playing in his final season of the Indian Premier League.

Kiwi commentator Danny Morrison during the toss asked about his future. After Dhoni elected to bowl first in a bowling friendly pitch at Ekana and his team got off to a great start. When the Kiwi asked “Clearly, this wonderful swansong tour your last. How are you enjoying it?”, MSD replied by saying – “You have decided it is my last IPL, not me!”

Meanwhile, the match has currently been called off due to Rain.
