IPL 2023 : How strong are Gujarat Titans as they set out in their title defense!

The inauguration of the Indian Premier League took place on the 31st of march. The inaugural match of the season was played between Chennai Super King and Gujarat Titans in which defending champions GT beat CSK. Gujarat Titans welcomed this season by continuing their previous form. Gujarat looked strong in the first match of the season but will they be able to defend the title?

Till now only two teams have successfully defended their titles. Both 2010–11 CSK and 2019–20 MI successfully defended their titles. In contrast to winning, defending a title is more challenging. Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans‘ team from last year’s championship has remained mostly intact. After the massive auction in 2022, Titans had been written off by everyone. Yet, the team fought back magnificently to pull off a memorable victory in their first outing. Their greatest asset would be the level of confidence they exude.

Gujarat Titans made a solid impact in the first match of the game. Walk down on the ground as if they were proving that title will be retained by them. Gujarat has a strong batting lineup and a group of skilled bowlers which makes Gujarat worthy enough to win the title again.

The core of the team is captain Hardik Pandya who ensures a good team situation with the ball and bat. The team includes star batters like Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade, Wriddhiman Saha, David Miller, and Rahul Tewatia, not to forget Rashid Khan who has proven to be quite handy with the bat as well.

Titans also have the best bowlers which would work to make the team retain the trophy. Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, Joshua Little, Yash Dayal, and Alzarri Joseph form a potent bowling attack.

The team’s impressive performance in the 1st match is a testament to their excellent form and indicates that the Titans are poised to defend their Championship Title.
