IPL 2020: Top three picks for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Royal Challengers Bangalore

With six teams fighting for three spots in IPL 2020, Sunrisers Hyderabad have their fate in their own hands in the league. If they win their two remaining games, Sunrisers will qualify into the top four as they have a superior net run rate. In their pursuit of qualification to the playoffs, they are up against Royal Challengers Bangalore who are also looking to qualify with a victory on Saturday.

Sunrisers Hyderabad absolutely dominated the proceedings in their previous game against Delhi Capitals. They outscored the top of the table team in all the departments. The batsmen put up a strong total on the board with Wriddhiman Saha and David Warner starting the proceedings. In the bowling department, everyone contributed equally along with  Rashid Khan bowling the spell of his life. The bowler gave just seven runs and claimed three wickets in his quota of four overs.

A defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore will put Sunrisers Hyderabad on the brink of elimination. David Warner doesn’t want it to happen in this phase of the tournament and will look to dominate the proceedings once again at Sharjah.

Here are the top three picks for Sunrisers Hyderabad in a do-or-die game of the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore:

#1) Wriddhiman Saha

 

David Warner and Sunrisers team management replaced Jonny Bairstow with Wriddhiman Saha and everyone asked the questions about the tactical change before the bowl was bowled. However, the Indian test wicket-keeper batsman shut the critics with his spectacular display with the bat. The batsman scored 87 from 45 deliveries which included 12 fours and two sixes.

Though he pulled up a hamstring injury, the wicket-keeper batsman will be available for the team and will be looking to stake his claim for the spot. With Sharjah supporting batsmen, Saha will be one of the top three picks for the side on Saturday.

With one of the highest deviations with the swing, Sandeep Sharma has always posed a significant threat to the batsmen and especially, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.

In the absence of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma has played a big role. He has eight wickets to his name in nine games and has remained stingy at an economy below 7.5. He will be one of the top three picks for Sunrisers Hyderabad against RCB on Saturday.

#3) Rashid Khan

The wily Afghanistan leg-break bowler has been phenomenal and a driving force behind SRH’s resurgence in the league. The player has played a big role in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling line-up with 17 wickets in 12 games. He has outfoxed the greats of the Indian Premier League and will look to play a major role in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s play-offs race.

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have struggled against the leg-break bowlers in particularly and the opposition have banked upon this. Rashid Khan will be detrimental in SRH’s pursuit of qualification.
