IPL 13: Learning how to keep opposition confused from the likes of Pollard, says Kishan

Ahead of locking horns against SunRisers Hyderabad in the ongoing edition of IPL  2020, MI batsman Ishan Kishan said that he is learning with the likes of Pollard and Pandya to keep rotating the strike so that he can confuse opposition during the match.

“I think I have been working with the likes of Pollard and Hardik Pandya for the last three years, and I know how they plan the game, It is not just about power hitting, it is also about how they plan the game, its not just about power hitting, it is also about how they take the game to the last over, how they put pressure on the bowlers and how they rotate the strike. So this is something, I am learning how to rotate strike and keep opposition confused” said Kishan while replying to ANI query during virtual press conference.

He further stressed that I have worked on my offside region after opposition figured out my weakness in hitting shots through covers.

“I think I was not good in playing shots at covers but I have worked on it in offseason. Teams have meeting before the match and they discuss as to what weak spots of every player are. It  is important for us to go practice about that in off season” Kishan said.

He played a brilliant knock of 99 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in a league stage game held recently in IPL 2020 where initially Mumbai was out from the game as they lost two quick wickets while chasing the mammoth total of 201 but he held his nerve and played a superb knock which helped his team to equal the score and go for the super over challenge however he was not send in to bat in Super Over despite playing a splendid knock but the coach Jayawardene clarified the reason why he was not send in to bat in super over. He must have got huge confidence after playing that brilliant knock and Mumbai Indians management will be expecting from him to step up in the crunch situation for the franchise when needed in future.
