India's tour of Sri Lanka in June officially Called-off due to COVID-19

India vs Sri Lanka

Team India was expected to tour  Sri Lanka in June for three ODI and as many T20s but a major setback has come after the series has been called off due to the growing cases of Coronavirus. The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) had earlier requested BCCI to allow Indian players to tour Sri Lanka as they will keep all the medical measures in mind.

After all the speculation that was generated, it has been called off now. The reason why they were giving an extra push to BCCI to permit them to allow the Indian Team to tour Sri Lanka as Sri Lanka doesn’t have too many active cases as of now.

As per the report from ESPNCricinfo India will no longer travel to Sri Lanka and all the fans who were waiting eagerly to see Men in Blue in the field had to wait a little longer.

However, if you look at all the situation in India with the way cases has been increasing alarmingly even if the matches happen it will take place in closed doors as allowing spectators even if the games resume will be a risky thing.

There is still a possibility of IPL taking place this year so that might sound the return of the Indian Cricket Team on the field. Also, India has to tour Australia in October as of now to play Four Tests and three ODIs.

Also, CA (Cricket Australia) has hinted that they can change the schedule based on the situation.
