Indian football skipper Sunil chhetri and one of the giants of the game has signed two year extension with Bengaluru FC which means he will be staying with the club till 2023.
He is currently 36 years old and has been with the club from 2013 onwards and his two more year extension with Bengaluru based franchise will mean that he will be playing for one club in ISL competition for a decade now.
“I am really happy to have signed on for two more years for Bengaluru FC. The city is home now, and the people of this club are like family to me” Chhetri told the clubs website.
“I love this club, supporter and city all three of which I have strong bond with, I am looking forward to being part of many more great moments with them” added Chhetri.
The forward has so far made 203 appearance since for the club and has managed to score 101 goals and has topped the goal scoring chart in all the previous eight season with the Blues.
He has been member of that Bengaluru based franchise who has lifted one ISL title, two Federation cup and two I League title.
“Sunil has been integral part of this club from day one. We all know what he is as player, brings to the team. But his presence as a leader has been equally crucial to us, and especially to the Youngster coming through the ranks. He is a role model and his influence and application has been paramount to our success” said Club CEO Mandar Tamahane.
