Indian Football Almost Dead: Let’s Decode Reasons Behind Indian Football Downfall and Possible Solution

If you love Indian Football, it’s not a right time for you as the results exhibited by players in distinct tournaments is below par, in other words it is pathetic.

The All Indian Football Federation and Stakeholders needs to something to improve Indian Football and the planning should not be done on short term basis but Long term basis.

There are several reasons why Indian Football has reached towards its ultimate downfall. Let’s decode all the reasons in the below format:

1. The scouting program is not up to the mark where the players who will excel at the highest level needs proper pathway where they can be selected failing that we have seen worst talent coming up the ranks.

2. Up next the tournaments are domestic levels is not up to the mark where the marquee event is not organized on regular basis also those events aren’t organized on consistent basis,  means that players are not getting decent chance to make name for themselves.

3. Let’s talk about India both top tier league (ISL and I- league) where we have seen most goals are scored by Foreigner not Indian due to which they play for national side they fail to score goals when it matters the most.

4. Let’s move towards coaches- Most coaches we have seen barring Stephen Constantine have hardly got long run where they can implement policies and ensure that Indian Football are heading into the right direction.

5. The Federation decision making has been pretty poor where the players are not flourishing at all in the regime.

The focus is heavily stressed on power establishment rather than taking steps to improve the life of players.

6. All these Khelo India Youth Games, Khelo India University Games, ISL and I-League won’t make any difference at all, until and unless it is organized as regular season.

7.  The Private entites who have invested heavily in making Indian Football a giant force is backing out big time, as explained by Parth Jindal who is currently owner of Bengaluru FC “What’s Point of Investing in Indian Football, if the Kind of quality of Football that we are playing is not up to the mark and AIFF needs to do something to improve Indian Football”

8. Trust me if you look at the way Indian players are playing you won’t be able to see entire 90 minute match in single play.

9. There is no Hunger left in Player it seems in other words they are competing against Lower ranked teams and still winnings games at last intervals speaks a dicey state of Indian Football.

10. The corruption inside the federation and wrong footed, policies and projecting social media post after winning SAFF Championships will not take them anywhere.

Overall, if something is not done to prevent Indian Football, it would certainly go in dicey state.  Let’s Explore few ways on how we can solve problems in Indian Football to be shared in the below format:

1. By Introducing policies like OCI and PIO: ( Overseas Citizens of India and Person of Indian Origin) should be allowed immediately to play for India. Just to explain that in simple term, all those overseas Indian players competing at the highest level for distinct clubs and representing India.

Playing in some of the top clubs all over the world will give them chance to showcase their skills and do wonders for Blue Tigers.

Teams like Bangladesh have already implemented policies where they have recalled players like Hamza Chaudhary who come together on board to exponentially raised the game towards next level.

The moment these players would play for India, it would allow the current team player to improve their standards otherwise they won’t be hurry to improve their performance knowing that no one could replace them.

2. AIIFF Federation Power Musical Chairs:

The Federation is responsible for governing operations around Indian Football, and Power Musical chairs shouldn’t be there, instead after 5 year elections should be held in transparent way so that office bearers coming in power should serve knowing that they have limited time, and they should focus on improving Indian Football.

The focus have been to retain power, rather that focusing on implementing policies to improve Indian Football in times to come.

The entire fabric of decision making should be changed if thoughts, vision and mission are aligned to change the fate of Indian Football.

3. Bigger Vision with Actual Implementations:

Any federation, organization would prosper and exponentially grow if they have vision based on that they align their decision making, unfortunately Indian Football is lacking big time.

They have talking initiatives like AIFF 2047 roadmap, but they failed to strengthen the ecosystem around it.

If the vision are perfectly aligned then all the decisions should be taken to strengthen Indian Football and the policies should not be built for short term basis instead Longer ones only then Indian Football can grow at the highest level.

4.  Indian Football Quality Coaching:

The Indian Coaches aren’t getting enough exposure, to excel at the highest level and the numbers are pretty less in ISL with only Indian coaches Khalid Jamil who have done pretty well in Indian Super League and rest of the coaches are not up to the mark and they need to do elongate their beautiful standard.

Otherwise rest of the coaches are not able to accelerate at the highest level.

Indian Football Quality Coaching standards needs to improve, otherwise coaching ecosystem will lack big time

5. Extreme Marketability and Perfect Results:

When it comes to promoting Indian Football, Extreme Marketability is needed so that Indian Football can flourish at top most level.

The marketability, factor with winning results is the only solutions going forward to improve the quality of Indian Football.

The marketability should be smartly equipped that should be directly proportional to the winning results  otherwise Indian football would lag big time to prosper.

India are currently ranked at number 24th place out of 36 teams in Asian Cup Qualifier and the Kind of football they have employed on the table would certainly mean that Indian Football is lacking big time in Asian Football.

The Kind of Football in all three domain- Defence , Centre and Forward at the moment where they lost against Hong Kong by 0-1 means that Indian football are almost lanquishing at the bottom of points table and they would hardly in next 100 years qualify for World Cup even in 100 years time.

Indian Football is in complete tatters, and stakeholders needs to work hard otherwise you would see people forgetting Blue Tigers performance and players in times to come.

Their anticipation level when it comes to Asian Cup Qualifiers and FIFA World Cup is null and void at the moment.
