India vs West Indies: Top Five Players With Most Number Of Sixes in One-Day  

India and West Indies are scheduled to play 3-match ODI series starting from 15th December. Chennai will host the first one-day International.

West Indies is a side which is known for his destructive batting and hitting big sixes. From Gordon Greenidge and Vivian Richards to Chris Gayle and Andre Russell, the hard-hitting has always been West Indies’ strong point. Though, India haven’t also been too far behind when it comes to launching sixes.

Former legendary player Gordon Greenidge tops the chart in the list of most number of sixes. He hit 30 sixes in juts 17 matches. Greenidge was the attacking player in the 80s. From World Cup meetings to touring India in 1983 and 1988, he was a big threat for Indian bowlers along with Sir Richards. He smashed the ball hard and his ability to score boundaries was amazing. Greenidge scored 937 runs in 16 innings at an average of 62.47.

 

2. Marlon Samuels

Marlon Samuels

Two-time T20 World Cup champion Marlon Samuels is known for hitting big sixes. He also had good numbers against India in white-ball cricket. He hit 29 sixes in 36 matches. He scored 1139 runs at an average of 34.52. He is not part of the West Indies squad.

He has scored the most number of hundreds by West Indies player against India. Gayle has scored 1119 runs against India at an average of 37.30.

He needs just 5 sixes in 3-match ODI series to grab number one spot and he has the ability to achieve it in a single game. He has scored 1082 runs against West Indies at an average of 63.65.
