India vs West Indies: Mohammed Siraj to be rested

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj was one of the best bowlers for India in the test series between India and West Indies. He took 7 wickets in the 2 Test matches played on the West Indies soil, at a phenomenal bowling average of 17.86. This shows that he is going to be the backbone of the Indian pace attack in the future. As part of the world load management, he has been flown back to India. This is certainly a good decision keeping the future of Mohammed Siraj in mind.

In this manner, Siraj flew back with the rest of the returning Test squad. It included Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Navdeep Saini, KS Bharat.

Current Fast Bowling lineup

The current fast bowling lineup for the 3 ODIs series includes all the inexperienced bowlers. The exact reason behind this is unknown. However, the bowlers who have got the chance are certainly very talented.

The list of bowlers mentioned above is going to represent India against the West Indies. The most experienced among these is Shardul Thakur. Till now he has played 35 ODIs. This shows there is a lot more experience that is required right now.

Matches to be played on the West Indies Tour:

The ODI series is going to be followed by a 5 matches T20 series. Mohammed Siraj is not even in the T20 squad. This shows that the selection committee wants him to be the future of the Indian Test squad.

India is also due to play two big tournaments before the end of this year. One is the Asia Cup, from August to September, and after that the World Cup 2023. These two tournaments are going to be very important. The performance of the Indian team in the Asia Cup is going to give them confidence for the World Cup. With so many in and outs in the team, it’ll be interesting to see the performance of the Indian players against West Indies.
