Things are diplomatically not good between India and Pakistan and the influence is pretty evident on cricket too as these two arch-rivals haven’t played bilateral series post 2012.
Latest report circulating in Pakistani media about BCCI agreeing to play Bilateral Test series have been denied vehmently by Indian cricket board.
Every cricket fans knows the rivalries these two teams share among each other so whenever they play against each other the atmosphere is quite tense as fans from both sides of border doesn’t want to loose game against each other.
“We are not planning any kind of Test series against Pakistan in Future so all those reports circulating in their media is not true all all. We will not play any match against Pakistan considering the current circumstances” said BCCI official in distinct media outlets over Test Cricket match update between two countries. .
In last few months, BCCI and PCB are at loggerheads against each other as the former want to play Asia Cup at neutral venue in retrospect, the latter want to play the marquee event on neutral venue.
“We’ll have Asia Cup 2023 at a neutral venue. It’s the govt which decides over the permission of our team visiting Pakistan so we won’t comment on that but for the 2023 Asia Cup, it is decided that the tournament will be held at a neutral venue.
“The venue for the 2025 Championship Trophy is still to be decided, we will comment on that when it is decided. We are getting good earning from our Media rights. Our motive is domestic players should get more benefits as out earning are increasing.”said BCCI official while talking to ANI.
The last bilateral series between these two countries which happened in 2012-13 included ODI format too which India lost under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
BCCI is currently busy in organizing IPL 2023, post that Indian team will travel to Oval for World Test Championship final which is scheduled in Oval from 7th to 11th June with last day kept for 12th June 2023.
