IND vs WI ODI: Ishan Kishan making good use of the chances

Ishan Kishan has made it certain in the recent West Indies tour to make full use of the chances he gets. In the 2nd Test of the two-match series, he got a quick-fire fifty to ensure that India put up a good total. And now in the two ODIs he has played against West Indies, he has got two fifties.

2nd Test against West Indies 

During the 2nd Test in the West Indies, India required quick-fire knocks from the top-order batters. So that they can set a big target for the West Indies, and at the same time they’ll have enough time to bowl out the opponent. That is when Ishan Kishan played the most important knock of his life. He contributed with a quick-fire fifty. However, the match was called off. But the contribution of Ishan Kishan was recognized. 

1st ODI against West Indies 

The consistency of Ishan Kishan continued even in the ODI series. He got 52(46) balls. That was a powerful innings by a batter who has scored a double century in the past. He certainly had a good contribution in making India win the first ODI match. 

2nd ODI against West Indies 

In the 2nd ODI Ishan again had the pressure of proving himself. However, he made another fifty looks very easy. He scored 55 of 55 balls and timed the ball really well in his innings. However, India was not able to win this match. West Indies won by 6 wickets. 

The next match is going to be the decider of India vs West Indies ODI series. Ishan Kishan will ensure that he goes on to perform well even in this match. In that way, he might be able to cement his position in the team. However, it’ll be interesting to see where he bats. Because once Rohit Sharma will return, then Ishan Kishan will need to bat at some other position.
