ICC Women’s T20 World Cup: How far can Sophie Devine take this New Zealand Women’s cricket team in the World Cup?

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is just upon us and all the teams are preparing for it in full flow. The Australian Women’s team, who are the defending champions are preparing a little extra because defending the title is more difficult than winning it. The tournament is scheduled to begin on 10^th February 2023 where the hosts South Africa Women will take on Sri Lanka Women. The marquee event will be played in 3 South African cities of Cape Town, Paarl, and Gqeberha over a period of 17 days.

The captain of the ICC Women’s T20I Team of the year 2022 and the current World number 4 batter in ICC T20I Women’s batting rankings Sophie Devine could very well be the player who brings glory to New Zealand this time around.

Sophie Devine is also the captain of the New Zealand Women’s national cricket team and has been leading from the front for many years now. She is a very respectable person in the cricketing fraternity and has scored thousands of runs in her cricketing career.

She scored 389 runs in the 14 innings she played in the last calendar year. It was not her best performance but she was looking in good touch. There is no better time for her to be back at her best than the forthcoming ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup.

Sophie Devine will be the pillar of the White Ferns cricket team at the World Cup not just in the batting department but overall because of her exceptional leadership skills. She is a very smart and cunning captain who stays involved in the game at all times.
