Cricketers from Pakistan have often been criticized for their English speaking skills when communicating with the journalists during the Press Conferences.

Tanvir Ahmed advised Babar Azam to learn English in a video posted on his Youtube channel citing that it will improve his overall personality and through this, he can cope up with the communication problems. “Babar Azam also needs to improve his English, which is necessary. Whenever someone becomes a captain, he has to talk during the toss and post-match presentation. Plus, he will also give interviews on various channels when he tours different countries,” Tanvir said.

Tanvir Ahmed has played for Pakistan in 5 Tests, 2 ODIs and 1 t20 and he received huge flak on the social media for his controversial statements as one of the cricket analysts of Pakistan Saj Sadiq mentioned in his twitter handle “Tanvir Ahmed via Youtube says Babar Azam needs to improve his English, work on his personality and change his dress sense” However many probably will feel as long as he’s scoring runs and doing well as skipper, it doesn’t matter how good his English is or what he wears”#Cricket”.

As Azam responded to the remark in the video which was highly praised and shared on the social media where he said “I am a cricketer and my Job is to play cricket not to speak English like Gora” but he added that “He is working on to learn the language but you cannot learn this language suddenly it will take time”. He concluded by saying that “It’s sad that when matches happen without fans we as a player don’t feel like we are playing a match”.
