Papua New Guinea (455/9)

On June 18, 1986, Papua New Guinea set a record in the World Cup Qualifiers that has not been broken to date. It was the time when the ODI matches were sixty overs a side, and PNG scored a massive 455 runs in their innings against Gibraltar. PNG won that match by 369 runs and made a statement on the international stage. This is the highest ever innings total scored in an ICC ODI Cricket World Cup Qualifiers match.

Netherlands (425/4)

On the same day, PNG scored 455 runs, the Netherlands were on their way to match that record on a different ground but fell short by just 40 runs. In another 60-over ODI match, the Netherlands scored 425 runs for the loss of four wickets against Israel in a Qualifier match. Israel was bowled out very cheaply in that match.

Zimbabwe (408/6)

On June 26, 2023, at the Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe thrashed the USA by a huge margin of 304 runs. The Zimbabwe team batting first scored 408 runs in the match, with captain Sean Williams playing an innings of 174 runs. It is the only score in this list that was made in a 50-over ODI match and hence holds a lot of importance in the history of Zimbabwe cricket.

Bermuda (407/8)

This score was once again scored in the 1986 World Cup Qualifiers. On June 13, Bermuda posted a mammoth 407 runs on the board against Hong Kong in a 60-over match. This match was also played on English soil, where Bermuda won by 227 runs.

USA (404/9)

In the 1990 World Cup Qualifiers and once again in a 60-over ODI match, the USA posted over 400 runs in their innings and recorded one of the highest innings totals in ICC ODI Cricket World Cup Qualifiers history. They achieved this record against East Africa in the Netherlands.
