The FIH Men’s Hockey World cup 2023 at Bhuvaneshwar and Rourkela is all set to get underway in 2 days time. The opening ceremony is taking place at Cuttack as of now and a very good news has come in favor of our national sport.
During the Ceremony early on, it was announced that Odisha state has extended their title sponsorship for a decade more. Odisha have played a major role behind Hockey’s development in the country and their support has extended for 10 years more.
Meanwhile, India will begin their World cup campaign from 13th January as they take on Spain in the first match. Expectations are high from the team this year especially under the coaching of Graham Reid, the Indian team has went from strength to strength.
