After giving a clinical performance against the Union Berlin, Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer said the team “deservedly took three points”.

As Neuer quoted the same on the club official website “We are glad we were dominant and deservedly took three points. We could have played better but we deservedly won the match”. Bundesliga returned to action on May 16 after a long hiatus caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Bayern Munich displayed their amazing performance on the field when they faced Union Berlin and thrashed them by 2-0 when the match was finished. The league has been suspended since March and many significant changes were witnessed during Bundesliga’s return.

The matches are being played behind closed which the fans who love to witness the matches in the stadium are not used to, Neuer reacted as he cited “We are used to the different atmosphere at this stadium. But it’s a down to us. It is now a question of motivation and being aware of what is going around us. We are trying to do our best of course and we have worked very hard for it. now we have to live up to our full potential. It’s a new situation and we need to cope with that. And we should not write off any team at the moment”.

Robert Lewandowski scored the opening goal of the match. Bayern Munich was awarded a penalty in the 40th minute and Lewandoski did not make any mistake to put his team ahead of Union Berlin at the end of the first half.

On the 80th minute, stunning goal hit by Benjamin Pavard took the score 2-0 against Union Berlin. With this superb victory, Bayern Munich reached the top of the Bundesliga table with 58 points. The club is followed by two good teams Borussia Dortmund(54) and Borussia Monchengladbach(52).
