#1 Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli, the next Tendulkar in the making is the fastest lay score 9K runs in One Day Cricket. He took 194 innings and 9 years and 72 days to top the list. He achieved the feat on 29 October 2017 against New Zealand in Kanpur.
AB de Villiers is widely known by many nicknames. You call him Mr. 360, ABCDE- AB can do everything, Superman, the list goes on.He is the second fastest player to score 9K runs in One Day Cricket. He registered the landmark against New Zealand in Wellington on 25th February 2017. He took 205 innings and 12 years and 23 days to cross the 9K snake on the board.
Sourav Chandidas Ganguly, our very own Prince of Kolkata was the fastest t score 9K runs before the arrival of King Kohli and AB de Villiers. He is still the second fastest in terms of time duration. He took 228 innings and 11 years and 363 days to collect 9K runs behind him. He achieved the milestone against Australia at Melbourne on 9th January 2004.
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar often referred to as the God of Cricket was the first player post millennium to score the Fastest 9000 runs in ODI. He took 235 innings and 10 years and 92 days to reach the milestone. He achieved the feat against South Africa in Nagpur on 19th March 2000.
#5 Brian Lara
If you think Saurav Ganguly only enjoyed the title of Prince, there was another, equally elegant southpaw with Hercules stamina. His name was Brian Charles Lara, the prince of Trinidad. He is at number 5 in our list. He took 239 innings and 14 years and 66 days to achieve the milestone. He achieved the landmark against Australia in Melbourne on 14th January 2005.
#6 Ricky Ponting
Ricky Ponting looked more like a soldier than a cricketer, who was never off guard. His killer instincts and ferocious eyes spoke more than words and statistics. The punter is at number 6 in our list. He took 242 innings and 11 years and 18 days to reach 9K mark. The Australian great achieved the feat against South Africa at Port Elizabeth on 5th March 2006.
#7 Jacques Kallis
Jacques Kallis is probably the best all rounder of all time with 10,000 runs and 300 wickets in both tests and ODI. He is at number 7 in our list of Fastest 9000 runs in ODI. He took 242 innings and 11 years and 98 days to cross 9K runs feat. He achieved the milestone against England at Bridgetown on 17th April 2007.People rate him the greatest cricketer ever.
#8 MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni is the finest Wicketkeeper, number 6 batsman and captain India has ever produced. He holds the record of winning 2 World Cups , Champion Trophy, Asia Cup and other major tournaments. His captaincy accolades completely overshadowed the batting prowess. He is at number 8 in our list of players to reach the Fastest 9000 runs in ODI.
He took 244 innings and 11 years and 305 days to cross the 9K hurdle. He reached the landmark on 23rd October 2016 against New Zealand in Mohali. There is no stopping him, let’s see where his run streak ends.

#9 Mohammad Yousuf
Mohammad Yousuf is arguably the greatest Pakistani batsmen in terms of statistics and elegance. E holds the world record of hitting 9 test centuries in a calendar year, but he has few ODI records under his name too.
The Pakistani tornado is at number 9 in our list of players to reach Fastest 9000 runs in One Day cricket. He took 245 innings and 10 years and 14 days to reach the milestone. He crossed the hurdle against Bangladesh in Faisalabad on 11th April 2008.
#10 Rahul Dravid
Once a fan posted “Sachin is God. Saurav is the God of the offside. Laxman is the God of fourth innings. Nut when the doors of the temples are closed, even Gods are behind the walls”. For every cricket fan, Rahul Dravid is the great wall of India.
His test records are breathtaking as endurance and mental focus comes to him naturally, but ODI records actually define his greatness. Once the player lost his place in the ODI squad due to defensive technique and today the maestro is standing at the Everest of ODI records.
He ranks at number 10 in the list of players to reach the fastest 9000 runs in ODI. He took 259 innings and 9 years and 322 days to reach the milestone. He achieved the feat against Pakistan in Karachi on 19th February 2006. He is fifth Indian to score 9K runs in ODI cricket history.
