Ethan Hamilton and Tanner’s loan spell cut short

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Old Trafford based outfit has recalled their young midfielder, Ethan Hamilton, from Southend. With the player recalled, his stint at Southend is cut short for the mid-season and probably experience the first-team minutes at Old Trafford. Few rumors also suggest that the 21-year-old Ethan Hamilton might join the new club in the winter transfer window.

On the other hand, Southend is experiencing a torrid season in League One and are at the rock bottom of the table. Hence, Southend and Manchester United have come into mutual agreement and the season-long loan deal has been cut short.

In the LEague One, Ethan Hamilton played last on December 7th and has been an unused substitute since then in the last four fixtures of Southend. This has come after the managerial change at Southend as Sol Campbell has replaced Kevin Bond.

For Manchester United, Ethan Hamilton has featured very few times but has his own impact on the performances. Back in 2018, the player was named in the traveling squad for FA Cup 5th round fixture against Huddersfield. However, he couldn’t play a major role in the game. Also, in the pre-season of 2018, he traveled with the United squad to the United States. The Scottish midfielder came on against AC Milan where the match was decided on penalties. Though, he hasn’t played any competitive fixture for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United. At present, even though the midfielders like Paul Pogba and Scott are injured, he is not listed for United’s third-round clash of the FA Cup at Molineux.

On the other hand, Manchester United’s young full-back, George Tanner’s loan deal is also cut short from League Two side Morecambe. Morecambe’s situation is also not that different compared to that of Southend who finds themselves at the rock bottom of the table. Even though Morecambe is happy in continuing the loan spell, other clubs are monitoring the situation. Championship outfits like Blackburn Rovers, Derby County and MLS side New York Red Bulls are interested in signing the 20-year-old fullback. However, Manchester United might leave the player for free at the end of the season as his contract with the club expires.
