Manchester United’s Argentinian World cup winning Center back Lisandro Martinez has been ruled out of the remainder of the season. During United’s UEFA Europa League Quarter-final 1st Leg tie against Sevilla at the Old Trafford.
It will prove to be a massive blow for them as Marcus Rashford is also in the sidelines and any particular date has around his comeback is not yet decided. Lisandro Martinez’s center back pairing Raphael Varane also picked up an injury in the same match.

The Argentina CB will not be in action for Manchester United this season anymore. And Varane’s injury at the same time is going to put United’s chances of winning the FA Cup in scrutiny. Finishing Top 4 in the Premier League is another major objective that will be impacted as they don’t have a concrete lead over other contenders.

They are currently in 4th with 56 points same as Newcastle United in 3rd and they are ahead on goal difference. If we talk about the match against Sevilla then it was a performance which defines their season. In the first-half, United were running the show as Marcel Sabitzer who is on loan from Bayern Munich, bagged 2 goals.

Both of his goals came within a 7-minute space in the 14th and 21st minute. The first one was assisted by Bruno Fernandes and it was a great pick up and shoot goal for Sabitzer. The second goal was rather sumptuous. It was a product of their brilliant tactics as Anthoy Martial played out a great sequence of hold-up play then drawing a defender to open the space for Sabitzer.

However, they scored 2 unbelievable own goals to miss out from having a strong grip in the Quarter-final. Substitutes for Martinez and Varane – Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire prevented United’s dominance to increase in the final 8 minutes of the game.
But to be fair, during some phases of the season, the Red Devils played great football and bagged wins against Manchester City, FC Barcelona, Arsenal and Real Sociedad before getting nailed by Liverpool 7-0!
