4-time Premier League winning manager with Manchester City, Pep Guardiola and his side will be vying for a Treble as the final stretch of the season has already begun. Big matches against big teams are on the horizon for Manchester City and they started their journey pretty well.
The first-leg of their UCL Quarter-final against Bayern Munich was a successful match as they won comprehensively by 3-0 at home. A win away at Munich will seal their qualification in the UCL semi-finals for the 2nd time in a row. Two of the key players in the team are midfielders Ilkar Gundogan and Bernardo Silva.
Both of the players have been playing in the Guardiola system for the past couple of years now and they have been key to City’s domestic success in the recent past. Last season on the final day of the league, it was Gundogan who shifted the momentum of the title decider match against Aston Villa.
Gundogan scored 2 goals including the winner at Etihad to hand City an epic PL title and second in a row. This season they are once again in the fray to lift the PL for the 3rd year in a row as they are to catch up with Arsenal’s pace. About Gundogan’s future, Pep said –
“You would love to have him forever and it doesn’t matter the position he plays, it doesn’t matter what he has to do, his contribution is massive. First, I do not know what is going to happen [with Bernardo or Gundogan] so the club take the lead and decide everything.”
