The trouble for the Indian red ball team is increasing day by day as players including the likes of Shubham Gill, Avesh Khan, and Washington Sundar have been ruled out of the Test series against England.
England and India who are currently two giants of Test cricket will be competing against each other for 4th August 2021 which will mark the beginning of the second cycle of the World Test Championship. Both Sundar and Khan have injured their finger while Gill has been ruled out quite early due to shin injury.
Khan is understood to have fractured his left thumb while the cause of Sundar’s injury needs to be ascertained. India is currently playing a match against County X1 where the former is having the lead of more than 200 runs on the last day of 3 match practice contest to acclimatize with the condition of England.
There are a couple of positives that we need to derive from India’s performance against county X1 starting with Kl Rahul who scored a century in India’s first innings followed by Mohammad Shiraj who took five wickets.
There is one thing that we need to ponder that India’s red-ball cricket team is facing several injuries on an away tour. India’s last tour of Australia was good in terms of performance but in terms of injury, it was awful as several star players were injured during that tour.
