As the host has suffered to find the balance of Ben Stokes in the first side and addition of Moeen Ali will be handy for England and opp spin all-rounder is well equipped with both bat and ball and he is in good form in the ongoing Hundred where his recent knock of 50 came in only 23 balls and with the kind of inexperience England batting lineup has shown in the first test it is evident that Moeen Ali will certainly get a chance in their playing X1 against India.

He will be joining the side today as the ace spinner last played the longest format of the game during India tour and he only played one match against Men in Blue but he fly back home due to rest and rotation policy adopted by England and Wales Cricket Board(ECB) however when the first test between India and England was concluded in Nottingham and the second one is all set to start from 12th August 2021 in Lords.  England coach Chris Silverwood said recently that they are including Moeen being included in the Test squad.

After playing a sublime knock for Phoneix in the Hundred he was asked by BBC about his feeling to don England jersey in the longest format of the game to which he said it is a special feeling to represent country against quality side like India.

“Of course if you get the call-up, then playing for England is the highest thing you can get. If I get the call then I’ll be available. It’s a win-win for me, things are going really well for me here and the team,” he said.
