England women have continued their dominance over West Indies women by defeating them comprehensively in second T20 international at Derby County Ground by 47 runs. England were already 1 0 up in 5 match T20 series by winning the first match.

WI captain Stafanie Taylor win the toss and decided to bowl to use the early help from the pitch. Beaumont and Wyatt opened for England and were quickly off the blocks by scoring boundaries and putting WI bowlers under pressure. Beaumont departed in 4th over with 34 onboard. England list Sciver and Wyatt in quick succession and were in a spot of bother at 45/3 in 7th overs.

Useful cameos from Sarah Glen and experienced Brunt ensured that England women get past 150 to give them a fighting score. England finished with 151/8 with Sara Glen too scoring with 26 of 19 balls with 4 boundaries.

West Indies began their chase with Dottin and Mathews opening for them. But England bowling lead by Brunt bad co did not give them any free runs and West Indies innings never took off. Mathews departed in 4th o we with only 11 runs on board. Skipper Taylor joined Dottin and both started to rebuild at a faster pace but required run rate kept moving up. Dottin fell for 38(4*4,1*6) on the last ball of 12 over and total score at 72.

From there in WI were never in the chase and kept losing wickets. When 8th wicket fell in 18th over WI were yet to cross 100 and the result was a foregone conclusion. WI finished the innings at 104/8 and losing a big margin of 47 runs. Their bowling was not as penetrative as their counterparts and with their lower-middle order contributing nothing, it’s always the top 3-4 players who have to do the bulk of the scoring. Looking at way series has gone so far WI comeback looks highly unlikely.
