Womens Ashes has started and the test match is as exciting as it can be. Maybe because there is only one test that is going to be played. That makes this test match even more important. Australia’s 1st inning
- In the first inning of Australia, the openers were able to give a fine start of 35 runs. After that, Mooney and Perry took the score to 83.
- However, once the second wicket partnership was broken, Perry carried on. In her innings of 99 runs, she was able to hit 15 fours. She was able to maintain the strike of 64.71, which is truly phenomenal in such a high-pressure game.
- The Australian inning was over at 473 runs, but the performance was certainly very good.
England’s 1st inning
- England got a similar type of start. Their opening partnership gave a start of 36 runs.
- However, Beaumont went on to score a century. She had hit 16 boundaries to get to her century, at a strike rate of 64.94. This was truly a wonderful century for a batter in the Ashes.
Currently, at the end of day 2, the score of England is 218-2. There is no doubt that England looks in a much better condition. However, in a Test match, nothing can be said about the result at the end of Day 2. Let’s wait for the result.
