‘Disgrace’-Michael Vaughan express his dismay over Ravindra Jadeja not inducted in A+ contract

Ravindra Jadeja

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan who is known for his outspoken nature on social media expresses his opinion on the recent post shared by Cricbuzz which stated that Jadeja was thought initially to keep him A+ contract in the recently concluded BCCI central contract 2021 list but later was kept in A Grade.

Former England skipper said that Jadeja deserves to be in that place behind Virat. However, only three players can be placed in A+ Category and those cricketers are inducted in this category who plays all three formats of the game.

The players inducted in the recently announced A+ list is Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. Jadeja, on the other hand, was kept in the Grade A category. It was later revealed that Jadeja was considered for a promotion but was later, not given any.

Since late 2019, Saurashtra all-rounder has been playing all three formats for Men in Blue and has become the vital cog for the national side.

Vaughan responding to the post from Crickbuzz stated that it is extremely disgraceful that Jadeja has not been offered the highest contract.

Vaughan wrote on Twitter, “Disgrace … he should be on the biggest behind Virat.”

The only reason why Jadeja might have not been promoted to an A+ contract is based on the fact that the ace all-rounder was injured in the longest format of the game against Australia which restricted him from playing the home series against England.

He has returned after recovering from his injury and currently playing the ongoing season of IPL 2021.
