Delhi Capitals speedster Anrich Nortje joins the Capitals bubble ; franchise confirms earlier positive result was false

Anrich Nortje

Delhi Capitals speedster Anrich Nortje has joined the capital’s bubble after the franchise confirms that the second test result which claimed that proteas pacer was tested positive was not true.

Moreover, Nortje was tested negative thrice before he joins the bubble. Nortje was one of the five South African cricketers who reached India late after playing the second ODI of the three-match series against Pakistan at home.

Interestingly his fellow counterpart Kagiso Rabada was on the same flight and was tested negative on the second test and also played his first game against Rajasthan Royals on Thursday in Mumbai.

The news about Nortje’s second test result false was confirmed by the franchise official Twitter handle.

Now the question arises which overseas players he will replace in the playing X1 and the only one name which comes to our mind based on current form is Tom Curran whose death bowling ability has been exposed in the last game where he was hit for two sixes in the penultimate over of the match.

Also, the questions arises when would Steve Smith get an opportunity to play as the ace batsman has not played both the games Capitals played in IPL 2021.

It will be interesting to see if they go with a similar strategy or they go back to their six batsmen theory while expecting Marcus Stoinis to perform the role of a sixth bowler.
