Portugal star and the current Juventus striker, Cristiano Ronaldo is all set to become the first-ever footballer to have become a billionaire during his career. The Portuguese star is all set to join the elite list of the sports stars to cross the landmark. Despite taking the € 4 million pay cut due to the ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus.

The 35-year-old Juventus talisman will be joining the golfer Tiger Woods who became a billionaire in the year 2009. He also joined the likes of the professional boxer Floyd Mayweather, who hit the same list in 2017. 

According to Forbes, Cristiano Ronaldo earned about €100m last year but that doesn’t show his entire career’s earnings as he is now expected to reach the $1 Billion club in the following 2019-20 season. 

Only Lionel Messi surpassed Ronaldo in the last season’s earnings, but the fact that the 35-year-old has been playing football from the last 18 years, the combined earnings of his career helps him to become the first-ever football player to have reached the milestone of $1 billion.

The earnings that Ronaldo earns comes in the form of his sponsorship deals and his CR7 underwear line sales and that alone boosts his total earnings this year $100 million mark again. 

The 35-year-old is currently in his hometown in Madiera as the ongoing situation has been intense in the region, with all the football activities stopped from happening due to the coronavirus. In fact, three of his Juventus teammates, Paulo Dybala, Daniele Rugani and winning midfielder Blaise Matuidi have been tested positive of the coronavirus.
