Cristiano Ronaldo joins an elite club after an incredible hat-trick against Cagliari

Juventus superstar scored an incredible hat-trick in Turin side’s 4-0 win against this year’s surprise package Cagliari.

The Portuguese superstar helped himself to a second-half hat-trick as champions Juventus defeated Cagliari in Turin.

The Bianconeri, in search of a ninth successive Scudetto, find themselves locked in a fierce title battle with former boss Antonio Conte and his Inter Milan side.

But Ronaldo, proved decisive as they moved three points clear of their rivals – at least until Inter’s clash with Napoli – taking his own recent tally to eight in five league outings.

Ronaldo pounced on a mistake from ex-Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan to break the deadlock four minutes after halftime before adding the second from a penalty as he scored for the fifth league game in the row.

Assessing his side’s performance, Ronaldo himself insisted,

“The most important aspect is performance and the team played very well. Certainly, it’s nice to score, but beyond my goals today we had to win and put pressure on Inter”

“I don’t know if I will see the game against Napoli, we must be calm and think about doing our best. We are doing it: we are improving game after game, in defense, in midfield and upfront. We must grow in all aspects,” he said.

With an eye-catching hat-trick, Cristiano Ronaldo kickstarts the new year in a stunning fashion.

It was the 36th league hat-trick of Ronaldo’s trophy-laden career, taking him to 13 in Serie A this term; only Lazio striker Ciro Immobile, with 19, has more.

What it also meant is that Ronaldo has become only the second player in history to score a treble in Serie A, La Liga, and the Premier League.  And the other player to do this is Alexis Sanchez.

Inter Milan are in the lookout to dethrone the Turin side as Serie A Champions and are in an intense title slugfest with them. Antonio Conte has been spotted out with his tactical masterclass and this could be a long, intense and title race of its kind.

However, in this title fury, veteran goalscorer Cristiano could uplift an immensely pivotal role and he has a knack of securing trophies as we all know.
