Cristiano Ronaldo Back To Form With Hattrick Against Lithuania

There have been a lot of question marks over Cristiano Ronaldo’s form and his attitude at the club level in the recent past.

Playing for Juventus, he has been reported to be frustrated with his substitutions and has been heavily criticized for leaving the stadium before the completion of the match.

But, none of that reflected in Cristiano’s performance last night against Lithuania. He was at his ruthless best as he took the pitch for his country at Estadio Algrave.

He slammed a hat-trick to guide his team to a 6-0 victory in the Euro qualifiers.

The 34-year old Portuguese maestro found the back of the net in the 7th, 22nd and 65th minute of the match to complete the 55th hat-trick of his career.

Cristiano was taken off by his club manager in the middle of the games in the past couple of weeks and the official word was that the management didn’t want to aggravate his knee injury.

But, there were no signs of any injury as Cristiano remained on the pitch for full 90 minutes of the game against Lithuania.

He was in full flow right through the game and seemed to be getting into the goal-scoring positions most of the time when he got the ball.

Apart from Cristiano, Pizzi, Goncalo and Bernardo Silva were the other three goal-scorers for Portugal as they scored one goal each.

Portugal are now second in the Group B points table with 14 points and will qualify if they win against Luxembourg on Sunday. Ukraine, who are topping the group standings with 19 points, have already made it to the Euro.
