Cleveland Cavaliers in self-quarantine after playing against Rudy Gobert last week

Cleveland-Cavaliers

Cleveland Cavaliers played against the Utah Jazz last week and today morning, the news of Rudy Gobert tested positive with Corona Virus has created a panic among the Cavaliers squad. Cleveland Cavaliers were scheduled to travel to Charlotte on Thursday won’t travel and stay at home. It was on March 2 when Cleveland Cavaliers had hosted the Utah Jazz, now fear the spreading of the virus after getting in contact with the infected Utah player.

After Rudy Gobert was tested with the COVID-19, NBA immediately called out the whole season until further notice. This has forced the Cavaliers to self-quarantine themselves as a precautionary measure to prevent the spreading of the virus. In fact, in today’s fixture, the moment the Jazz Center was diagnosed with the Coronavirus, the game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Utah Jazz was called-off as both the teams were immediately quarantined inside the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Other than Cavaliers, the other four teams that came in contact with Rudy Gobert are New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons. All the players are told to self-quarantine who came in contact with the Utah Center player in the last 10 days.  However, Orlando Magic guard Evan Fournier said he reached out to Gobert, suggesting his France teammate was in good spirits and that fans shouldn’t panic.

There are still 259 games to be played in this season, there is still no clarity on when the season will resume. However, the NBA has permitted all the teams to continue their practice but advised the teams to not travel anywhere. But the members of Cavaliers were making phone calls, trying to gather as much information as possible while also awaiting word from the league and team doctors about how to proceed.
