Canada has announced its squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 to be played in June. Canada will participate in the T20 World Cup for the first time and Pakistani-origin Saad Bin Zafar will lead the team in the mega event.

Many experienced and young players have got a chance in the team, who will try to leave a mark through their good performance at the international level. The Canadian team would like to take advantage of the experience of orthodox spinner and captain Saad. Apart from him, batsman Aaron Johnson and fast bowler Kaleem Sana have also got a place in the squad.

The surprising thing about this squad is that only four players in the team are below 30 years of age. Some key players like Nikhil Dutta and Srimantha Vijayaratne haven’t found a place in the team. Whereas, Tajinder Singh, Aditya Varadarajan, Ammar Khalid, Jatinder Matharu, Parveen Kumar have been selected as reserves but only Tajinder will leave with the team.

T20 World Cup will see a title battle between a total of 20 teams and a total of 55 matches. Will be played. Canada has got a place in Group A, in which it will face tough competition from Asia’s two biggest teams India and Pakistan. Canada will play its first match on June 1 against host USA. Next, they will take on Ireland in their second match on 7 June. Then Canada’s third match will be against Pakistan on June 11.
